Sylvie’s research interest is within law and religion. In particular, she looks at the interference of the law with religious symbols, with a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of religious symbols.

 

She is particularly interested in the anthropological approach which views religion as a system of symbols. Other areas of interest include the expression of hate, racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, holocaust denial, freedom of expression.  She currently organises the News Round Up sessions and various reading groups.
